We have returned from a wonderful trip to Zion. We packed up on Wednesday and left early Thursday morning. It was a pretty drive up through northern Arizona and southern Utah. We stopped at the overlook of the Grand Canyon in Navajo Nation for a quick lunch from our cooler. We made it to
the house, just outside the east gate of Zion National Park, around 2pm. It was a beautiful house with gorgeous scenery all around. Best of all was my whole family being together. Thursday we just caught up; the girls inside and the boys at a campfire just outside the house until 3am! On Friday my parents hosted a wonderful rehearsal dinner at the house where they served flank steak, a veggie medley, rice and absolutely amazing peach cheese cake. It was also Luke's 32nd birthday so we had
Chocolate Haupia Pie for lunch, one of his favorites. Saturday was the wedding and it was quite a trek to get to the site. It involved a car ride, two shuttle rides and a short walk to the unbelievable site at Temple Sinawava at the end of Zion Canyon. It was situated under a huge, yellow leaved Oak Tree right next to the Virgin River flowing through the canyon. The reception was in Springdale and everyone danced the night away, even the babies! Johanna finally dropped at 9pm and slept on two chairs pushed together until we decided to leave the party two hours later! The next day we packed up, said our goodbyes and were off the camp in Zion NP for a few days...
